About Leek Wootton History GroupLeek Wootton History Group is a not-for-profit organisation and its core aims are: To research and publicise the history and development of the Civil Parish of Leek Wootton & Guy’s Cliffe; To maintain a living archive of the Civil Parish, including all media; To advise and help individuals, both within the community and outside, having similar interests; To share information and work with other organisations with similar aspirations; To support and organise events, exhibitions, displays of local history for the benefit of the community; To provide opportunities that support and deliver educational outcomes; To support any worthy efforts with positive implications for local history; To publish books, leaflets or other work; To extend any of the above activities as opportunity may arise.
Leek Wootton History Group has no paid staff. It has approximately 15 members, most of whom have volunteered in various projects we have undertaken since 1999.
The History Group has an annual general meeting in the Spring. It meets as required for projects, talks and excursions and members continuously gather material for its living archive. The History Group maintains a presence on the internet and in Parish publications and responds to general inquiries via post and email.
These activities are funded by the Group’s own donations or product/ticket sales.
